RAGBRAI is primarily a camping event, Riders will be directed to Parkers Woods Park, East Park, the Aquatic Center/Riverbend, or the Mason City High School, where there will be plentiful facilities for tent camping. RVs and support vehicles can camp at the North Iowa Events Center fairgrounds. Some riders prefer to be hosted by locals in their homes or yards. To match locals up with these riders, we have created a monitored Facebook group. Please click below to join the group and find a rider or a host. First, here is some important information about hosting riders or being hosted by a local Mason City home:

EACH RIDER SHOULD HAVE A WRISTBAND #:

IMPORTANT: All riders requesting housing must provide a wristband number as proof of their official RAGBRAI registration. Any unregistered riders looking for housing should be denied housing. If hosts agree to accept a rider who has not registered and therefore not signed a waiver of liability, hosts could in some cases be personally accepting all the risk of having riders stay in their home. RAGBRAI accepts these risks for all officially registered riders.

WHAT A RIDER EXPECTS:

 A place to put a tent outside, or inside floor space for a sleeping bag.

 Access, if possible, to a bathroom and shower.

 Possibly somewhere to fill water bottle.

WHAT A RIDER SHOULD NOT EXPECT:

 To have full use of your home.

 To be fed and entertained.

 Towels, soap or shampoo.

 To be charged for accommodation in a private Mason City home

WHAT HOSTS CAN EXPECT:

 Well-behaved, appreciative guests.

 Guests who respect your wishes.
